FAQ
What is a zine?
Zines have had many purposes and definitions over the years! GOTHAM: the Centennial Issue is a contemporary charity fanzine, so it will be a collaboration between several artists and writers, printed by a professional company. The profits will then be donated.

What is the theme for this zine?
This zine is based on the idea of a fashion magazine for DC Comics' fictional location of Gotham City! Pages might feature environments, characters, interviews, or articles, all centred around Gotham.

Which characters will be allowed?
Any canon DC characters based in Gotham City or heavily associated with major Gotham players will be allowed. However, we ask that DC characters based in other spheres (Metropolis, Themyscira, etc.) be omitted, since the Gotham catalogue on its own is so expansive.

Do I need previous zine experience to apply?
Not at all! We welcome people from all experience levels to join.

Can I apply for more than one position?
Absolutely, but please be prepared for the possibility of being accepted for more than one role!

Will the zine be physical?
In short: we hope so! But really, that depends on the interest check. Physical release will only be feasible if we get enough buzz going to make a profit.

Will you allow NSFW content?
No, this is a SFW zine. PG-13 language will be allowed, along with minor cuts and scrapes should it serve to heighten the juxtaposition between high fashion and the vigilante scene.

Where will the profits be donated?
All profits will go to the Great Dane Rescue Alliance.
"The Great Dane Rescue Alliance was formed in 2012 by a group of dedicated volunteers that wanted to focus their efforts on helping Great Danes and other dogs that needed them most. Through their foster home based program, they work to rescue and rehabilitate those that may be otherwise overlooked."

Is there an age restriction on contributors?
Yes, contributors must be aged 16 or older by the time that contributor applications close.

Can contributors collaborate?
Absolutely! Comics are built on collaboration, and we see no reason why this zine should be any different. Please indicate your interest in collaboration on the form.

Do you have to have drawn Batman fanart previously to apply?
No, we just want your pieces to reflect your ability and the style you intend to draw in.
